Andrew Loeb Shoenig

Andy brings people together across boundaries to solve problems and strengthen collaborations. As the program director for community resilience at MDC, he leads a team that identifies, amplifies, and connects individual leaders, organizations, and coalitions to support communities using an array of technical assistance methods, including facilitation, conflict mediation, training, coaching, and relationship brokering. Among other projects, he facilitates the North Carolina Inclusive Disaster Recovery Network, a multi-sector coalition established in 2016 with over 750 members who share information, strengthen relationships and capacity, research policy and practice, and advocate for a disaster recovery system that works for everyone, everywhere.

Prior his work with MDC, Andy organized international exchange programs to build relationships across the aisle, across sectors, and across the globe. He has also served as a Fulbright Teaching Assistant in Vienna, Austria. He graduated with a BA in History and German Studies from Emory University and a Master of Public Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
