Dayna Covey

Dayna Covey serves as the Program Coordinator for the Rural Prosperity & Investment issue area at MDC. In this role, she supports community resilience efforts by coordinating capacity-building initiatives and providing facilitation and technical assistance to local leaders, organizations, and coalitions across rural and historically marginalized communities in North Carolina.

Before stepping into this role, Dayna earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and served as a consultant for QENO (Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations), where she honed her skills in capacity building, program evaluation, and strategic planning. Her background also includes a bachelor’s degree in Exercise, Sport, & Health Education from Radford University, where she developed early experience in community health education.

Outside of work, Dayna enjoys reading with her needy (but lovable) cat, Bestie, exploring the outdoors, and gathering with friends for trivia and game nights.
