Mason McVeety

Mason is a North Carolina Native hailing from Huntersville and a proud alumna of UNC Wilmington, where she earned a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Assistance Dog Training. She is currently in her final year at UNC Chapel Hill pursuing a dual Master of Public Administration and Master of Social Work, along with a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Leadership. During her time at UNC Chapel Hill, she co-founded Leaders Doing Good, a graduate student organization that connects students interested in nonprofit careers with opportunities for networking, professional development, and community service.

Mason previously served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Nashville, Tennessee, where she focused on place-based community engagement and capacity building at an anti-poverty nonprofit. Her commitment to public service, especially for rural North Carolina communities, traces back to her childhood summers at a Girl Scout Camp in Western North Carolina. It was there she first experienced the power of community and collective action. That spark continues to shape her commitment to public service and remains a guiding thread in her career.
